I was interested in purchasing a vehicle from Fisher Acura and planned to pay using a check from my bank. I informed the salesperson that I would be bringing a bank check, but I was told by a salesman named Michael, "Unfortunately, we don't work that way," and that I would need to finance the vehicle through the dealership instead. As a buyer, I believe I should be able to choose how I finance my purchase, especially when I already have financing secured through my own bank. I was interested in purchasing a vehicle from Fisher Acura and planned to pay using a check from my bank. I informed the salesperson that I would be bringing a bank check, but I was told by a salesman named Michael, "Unfortunately, we don't work that way," and that I would need to finance the vehicle through the dealership instead. As a buyer, I believe I should be able to choose how I finance my purchase, especially when I already have financing secured through my own bank. Requiring customers to finance through the dealership in order to purchase a vehicle felt misleading and unnecessarily restrictive. I was ready to buy the vehicle, but I wasn't willing to change my financing just to complete the sale. I hope Fisher Acura reconsiders this approach and allows customers the freedom to use their own financing without making it a condition of the purchase.
