At the heart of performance on the 2019 Acura ILX i a 2.4L i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine that generates 201 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque and gets an EPA-estimated 34 mpg highway and 28 mpg city*. In order to optimize both performance and efficiency, this engine comes with performance features like:
- Intelligent Variable Valve Timing (i-VVT)
- Lift Electronic Control
- Paddle shifters
The new Acura ILX is offered with an 8-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) that comes with a torque converter and Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters. It features one clutch for odd-numbered gears and another for even gears, and comes with sensors that are able to predict whether the next gear shift will be up or down based on driving behavior and conditions. This transmission is responsive and smooth, and its many ratios help it achieve maximum efficiency without sacrificing performance.
